Root of It Wellness, a beauty and self-care brand that creates plant-based lotions and products designed to bring everyday self-care into people’s lives.
This project went far beyond a standard photoshoot. Root of It Wellness partnered with me to bring their brand to life from start to finish, and I helped guide the process every step of the way. My role included:
Strategic brand planning — defining brand colors, tone, and visual language
Creative direction & styling — ensuring every photo, scene, and visual element reflected the brand’s personality
Model sourcing & makeup artist coordination — curating the perfect team and talent for the shoot
Photo & video content creation — producing high-quality images, reels, and short videos optimized for e-commerce and social media
One of my favorite parts of this project was creating story-driven vignettes to visually express each product. Drawing on my expertise in food and flower styling — and collaborating with the talented product stylist Maureen Vanderkoij-Tan — we designed scenes that reveal the story of each lotion’s ingredients: botanicals, natural extracts, and plant-based elements. These visuals allow customers to immediately sense the essence of every product.
The result is a full library of authentic, thoughtfully crafted visuals that help Root of It Wellness connect with everyday users and stand out in the crowded e-commerce space.
