POSTED IN:

In my 8 years as a professional photographer, I have learned that it’s important to re-group, and shoot for yourself.  You get hired to photograph other’s people experiences, and love; but it’s always good to back to photographing your own love, and your own experiences.

Last year I made a conscious decision not to photograph in film as much, because it got to be too costly. However, film is what I truly love to photograph my personal photography on.  So I just did it!  To bring my Canon EOS3, and a 35 mm roll of Portra 400 along for the ride, while on my little vacation with my kids was so good for my soul. I needed to re-connect with my three loves: exploring, film photography, and spending time with my kids.

During our little tour to my beloved city of San Francisco, I brought some cameras along so I can teach my boys some photography. We photographed each other, and walked the streets; and ate the food; saw the sights; and we hugged; and we laughed, and it was so much fun. If you are photographer reading this blog, I encourage you to get out there, and shoot for yourself!! It’s a must! If you want to see some my personal work, click here.

Here what I created in a day with my boys in San Francisco with my film camera.
