Some photography projects go beyond creating images.

They tell a story about a place, its people, and the experience it offers.

That was the spirit behind the Food & Wine Latin America feature on Seventh & Dolores Steakhouse, a modern culinary destination in Carmel-by-the-Sea, by the same visonary owners of Folktale.

For this editorial production, the goal was to capture the essence of the restaurant — its architecture, its cuisine, and the vibrant atmosphere that defines it.

A Modern Landmark in Carmel-by-the-Sea

Located at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Dolores Street, the restaurant occupies a striking modernist building that has become an iconic gathering place in Carmel.

Inside, marble surfaces, natural textures, and warm lighting create an environment that feels both refined and welcoming.

For photography, spaces like this become part of the narrative.

Every reflection, every shadow, every architectural line contributes to the story the images tell.

Translating Experience into Imagery

Editorial photography requires more than technical precision.

It requires understanding the rhythm of a restaurant — the preparation in the kitchen, the movement of the dining room, the interaction between chefs, plates, and guests.

At Seventh & Dolores, the imagery focused on capturing those moments.

Not staged perfection, but the authentic energy of a restaurant in motion.

Because when photography reflects the true spirit of a place, it becomes more than documentation.

It becomes storytelling.
